ASOP is committed to keeping its students and staff healthy, and we kindly ask families to follow our Illness Policy to help prevent the spread of sickness.
Becoming ill at School
If a student becomes ill at school and needs to go home, permission from a parent/guardian must be received before the student can leave the building. It is important to keep phone numbers updated with the school so you can be reached in this instance, or in the event of an emergency.

To protect your student and prevent the spread of disease, please keep your student home when any of the following conditions are present:
Temperature of 100 degrees or greater
Vomiting
Diarrhea
Severe sore throat or pain with swallowing
Severe headache
Severe cough
Undiagnosed rash or skin lesions or sores that are weeping or draining
Any suspected or doctor-diagnosed contagious disease.
when it’s okay to return to school
Students may return to school when (i) they have been free from fever (without medication), vomiting, or diarrhea (without medication) for 24 hours and (ii) other symptoms are improving.
Upon returning to school, it is recommended that the following additional precautions be taken over the next 5 days if the student had COVID-19 or the flu: wearing a mask and physical distancing.
If in doubt about sending your child to school, please contact us or your child's doctor.
