RESOURCE PERIOD

A student’s course schedule includes a 7th period resource class. During this class Monday through Thursday, students have time to complete their homework assignment for the day. On Fridays, students participate in the activity club they signed up for that semester.

The objectives for teachers during the 7th period resource class are to:

• Provide homework support

• Monitor student progress by checking the student’s online daily report card (DRC) for classroom behavior and homework progress

• Monitor and shape students’ executive functioning skills

• Celebrate student progress and success

• Encourage improvement and success

• Collaborate with a student’s teachers to troubleshoot and problem-solve issues

• Strategically divide incentive pay to shape student behavior

• Develop a relationship with students and their parents or guardians

• Communicate school information to students and share student progress and information with parents or guardians.
